The change module in BMC Helix ITSM enables you to create and manage change requests. The goal of is to have a well-defined change control process.

Quick overview

The Change Management module in BMC Helix ITSM enables your organization to plan, assess, schedule, coordinate, and evaluate work that results in changes to your technology environment. For example, let’s say you want to purchase Microsoft SharePoint to perform actions such as store documents at a central location and track weekly activities. You can use the change module in BMC Helix ITSM to list down all activities that are required to install Microsoft SharePoint across the organization. You can also learn about the risks of storing all the information in Microsoft SharePoint. Additionally, you can use the Change Management module to work on some mundane activities such as changing passwords and changing hard disks.

The following functional roles are part of the Change Management application:

  • Infrastructure Change Approver
  • Infrastructure Change Coordinator
  • Infrastructure Change Manager

The following user roles are part of Change Management IT Support:

  • Change Coordinator
  • Change Manager
  • Task Implementer
