Enhancements to services and service details

A number of enhancements are provided to improve your experience with viewing services and service details.

Entities renamed to Services

The Entities tab is renamed to Services. All the related functionalities remain unchanged.

CI impact path displayed in dotted red line

In the CI Topology tab of the service details view, the CI impact path between the impacted nodes is marked with dotted red lines, and the non-impacted nodes is marked with grey lines.

For more information, see Performing ML-based root cause isolation of an impacted service.

View upstream and downstream impact paths

In the Service Hierarchy tab of the service details view, use the Upstream Impact and Downstream Impact options to view the upstream (parent nodes) and downstream (child nodes) impact paths of the current service.

For more information, see Performing ML-based root cause isolation of an impacted service.

Automatic tagging and grouping of advanced filter criteria

If you add multiple filters in the Advanced filter box in the CI Topology and Service Hierarchy tabs, based on the length and number of filters and the space available to display, the filters are automatically grouped  and tagged as +1 active, +2 active, and so on. You can click the tag to view the grouped filters.

For more information, see see Performing ML-based root cause isolation of an impacted service.

Enhancements to Situations

A number of enhancements are provided to improve your experience with situations.

Create an incident from the Action menu

The Create Incident action is available from the Action menu that is part of the list view.

For more information, see Monitoring situations.

Filter by status

Filter situations based on their status. By default, only open situations are displayed.

For more information, see Monitoring situations.

Customize the Situations list view

Choose the columns to be displayed on the Situations page. You can also drag and drop columns to rearrange the Situations page according to your requirement. This can be done only in the list view.

For more information, see Monitoring situations.

Sort columns

Sorting is available on the Occurred, Severity, Priority, and Status columns.

For more information about these enhancements, see Monitoring situations

The following MP4 shows the Situation enhancements.

View incident details in BMC Helix ITSM

Click the incident ID created against a node for an impacted service or situation to launch the incident details in BMC Helix IT Service Management.

View situations as a list

Situations can also be viewed in a list, in addition to tiles. Using the list view, you can see the details and perform event operations from the Action menu without drilling down to an individual situation.

For more information, see Monitoring situations

Group events hierarchically in a situation

When investigating a situation, you can select a hierarchical view to group events hierarchically. The hierarchical group is created using event signatures. The default view is a flat-style list of all events.

For more information, see Investigating ML-based situations.

Perform event actions for impacted services and situations

For any open event, you can perform a set of actions. These event actions are available for impacted services and associated situations.

For more information, see Performing ML-based root cause isolation of an impacted service and Investigating ML-based situations

Launch event details in the BMC Helix Operations Management console

Launch and view the Event Details page in BMC Helix Operations Management for each event that is associated with services and situations in BMC Helix AIOps.

For more information, see Performing ML-based root cause isolation of an impacted service and Investigating ML-based situations.
