FSM Gateway Installation Steps

Follow these steps to install the BMC Helix FSM Gateway and BMC Helix FSM Studio on your Gateway Server.

1. Download the BMC Helix FSM InstallShield.

2. Run the BMC Helix FSM InstallShield on the gateway server (double-click).1772806300459-386.png
3. Initial InstallShield screen. Click 'Next' to begin installation.1772638620359-228.png

4. Select the Setup Type: Typical, Custom, or Complete. Then click 'Next'.

Typical: Installs the BMC Helix Connector, BMC Helix FSM Studio, and BMC Helix FSM Apps.

Custom: Allows selection of what features you would like to install. These are all the available features:

  • HTTP Proxy (BMC Helix FSM HTTP Proxy service for HTTP proxy connections. Opens firewall port 1212/TCP)
  • IIS Push Web Application (Creates an IIS Website and Application Pool for push notification web services. Requires IIS 4.0 or higher to be installed)
  • BMC Helix Connector (BMC Helix ARS v9 dispatch integration with keywords, triggers, and registry configuration)
  • BMC Helix FSM Studio (BMC Helix FSM Studio development tool with device mockup images for designing mobile interfaces)
  • BMC Helix FSM Apps (Pre-built BMC Helix FSM mobile applications for phone and tablet deployments)

Complete: Installs all features available in the Custom installation.

5. Choose where you would like to install the BMC Helix FSM solution. By default, the BMC Helix FSM solution will be installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\BMC Helix FSM\1773255123157-563.png

6. Enter the Server Address (including port number) of your BMC Helix server. Then  click 'Next'.

7. Click 'Install' FSM Gateway installed and click 'Next'.

8. After the installation is complete, select the 'Launch Server Manager' checkbox and click 'Finish'. 1773253932197-515.png

9. The BMC Helix FSM Server Manager will open after the Setup Wizard closes. This is where you will upload the required licenses needed to use the mobile applications. To upload your licenses follow these steps:

  1. In the 'License control' box (in the right column), click 'Import License'.
  2. Pick the license file from your computer.
  3. Select 'Yes' for importing the licenses for 'AppStudio', 'AppStudioApps', and 'Server'.
  4. If licenses imported correctly, a message should appear saying '3 licenses loaded successfully'. Click 'OK'
