FSM Gateway File Navigation

After completing the InstallShield wizard, the BMC Helix FSM Gateway package is available in C:\Program Files (x86)\BMC Helix FSM (assuming the default installation path was used). The following section describes the purpose of each folder within this directory.

Deployment

The deployment folder tells the FSM Gateway how to authenticate users, what applets the FSM Gateway should displayed

and for which type of device, and how to preconfigure settings on the FSM client. The initial FSM Gateway install includes

three deployment folders: AndroidiOS-Phone, AndroidiOS-Tablet, and Windows. Additional deployment folders can be

added for various device types or user groups. Each deployment folder can be managed by configuring the _permissions.xml

file.

To deploy an applet, place the applet .cxml file within a deployment folder. Each deployment folder contains it's own

_preferences.xml file which allows for additional client control and configuration.

Documentation

The Documentation folder contains reference materials related to the current version of the FSM Gateway. This

includes the software license agreement and the release notes detailing new features, improvements, and known issues.

Server

The Server directory acts as the central repository for the gateway’s operational logic. It contains all necessary executables,

library dependencies, and configuration triggers required to maintain service stability and facilitate data communication

between FSM and integrated Remedy environments. Because this folder contains the compiled logic of the gateway, its

contents must remain unaltered. Modifying these files can lead to service instability or unexpected behavior during data

processing.
