Registering for the Helix On-Premises Migration Enablement program


Register for the Helix On-Premises Migration Enablement (HOME) program to receive tailored guidance to migrate non-containerized versions of products to the BMC Helix containerized versions.

Review this page to migrate TrueSight Operations Management 11.3.xx or later to BMC Helix Operations Management on-premises.

Important

As part of the HOME program, BMC Helix provides structured guidance and support for the upgrade.  However, BMC Helix does not directly deploy or migrate the environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

The HOME program ensures that you receive support for planning your upgrade. However, you perform the actual preparation and execution of the deployment and migration.

  • Share documentation, templates, and training resources.
  • Evaluate customer updated plans and guide them with workshops, if required.
  • Provide best practice guidance and review sessions.
Customer 
  • Understand the deployment architecture.
  • Update the planning documents and the worksheets.
  • Identify the platform, tools, and applications for migration.
  • Engage with partner or BMC services, if needed.
  • Learn about the tools required for migration and get certified, as needed.
  • Perform environment setup.
  • Execute migration steps.
  • Migrate configurations and integrations.

To register for the HOME program

By registering for the HOME program, you can align your team, validate prerequisites, and get dedicated support and a seamless upgrade experience.

Note:
  • Open the case to plan your migration and migration date.
  • Make sure that you have all the environment details to update the planning documents.
  1. Call BMC Helix customer support or go to the Helix On Premises Migration Enablement page and log in to open a HOME case.

    The BMC Helix support team schedules a kickoff call.

  2. Discuss your environment details to plan your migration and the migration date.

    Important

    You must plan your migration date at least three to four weeks after you open the case.

     

  3. Analyze the environment and update the templates. See Stage 1 in the Upgrade process overview page.
  4. Plan and prepare for deployments. See the Day 0 and Day 1 tabs in the Deployment overview section.
  5. Close the HOME case.

Where to go from here

  1. Execute the deployments and configurations. See the Day 1 and Day 2 tabs in the Deployment overview section.
  2. Run the following migration tools and perform the migration tasks.
  3. Migrate integrations. See Migrating integrations.

  4. Validate in the QA or non-production environment.
  5. Close the HOME case.
  6. (Optional) Create a new support case for a post-migration follow-up discussion with a BMC Helix expert.
