Register for the Helix On-Premises Migration Enablement (HOME) program to receive tailored guidance to migrate non-containerized versions of products to the BMC Helix containerized versions.
Review this page to migrate 20.02 or earlier on-premises versions to the current containerized version of BMC Helix Service Management on-premises.

To register for the HOME program
By registering for the HOME program, you can align your team to get validation and review of the upgrade plan for a seamless upgrade experience.
Call BMC Helix customer support or go to the Helix On Premises Migration Enablement page and log in to open a HOME case.
The BMC Helix support team schedules a kickoff call.
Discuss your environment details to plan your migration and the migration date.
- Make sure that your environment meets the hardware and software requirements and the compatibility matrix. For details, see System requirements.
- Analyze the environment according to the deployment templates.
- Download template and update the project plan.

- Your proposed deployment architecture
- Kubernetes details such as cluster sizing, cluster permissions, master node, and worker nodes.
- Environment details such as load balancer, Ingress, PVCs, RSSO, SMTP server, security requirements, encryption types,
- Your target system such as, the products to install, the user details
- Your BMC Helix platform and application deployment pipelines.
- Learn best practices.
Review the Pre-implementation plan and the migration plan - Discuss the updated implementation plan:
- Review existing integrations such as the database, plugins
- Discuss implementation details such as REST API, Web services
- Evaluate your configurations, users, workflows, and dependencies
- Explain AR Systems and CMDB Objects customizations
- Low-level development tasks including:
- Fixing customizations
- Running 3-way reconciliation
- Fixing/updating integrations/AI jobs
- Any new development tasks
- Ensure that your environment is ready for the deployment.
- Discuss the updated migration plan:
- Evaluate data volume and database size
- Discuss about custom forms or field updates, if any.
- Monitor and validate data integrity and environment setup.
- Ensure that the ITSM systems are ready for migration.
- Discuss the updated deployment plan:
- Close the HOME case.
- (Optional) Create a new support case for any deployment or post-migration discussions with a BMC Helix expert.
