FAQs

Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions about the BMC Helix Intelligent Automation product.

Can I edit the configuration details for the ITSM system from the Solutions page?

No. You can only view the configuration details. If you want to use another instance of BMC Helix for CSP, you must delete the current integration and configure a new one.

What happens when I delete the configuration from the Solutions page?

The automation policy templates and the BMC Helix for CSP connector are deleted from BMC Helix Intelligent Automation. Automation policies that use the templates stop working.

Can I edit or delete the BMC Helix for CSP connector like any other connectors?

No, you cannot edit or delete it from the Connectors page. If you delete the configuration from the Solutions page, the connector gets deleted

Can I edit or delete the policy templates?

No, you can only copy and then make changes to the policy created from the template. You can delete your policy whenever you want.

Do I need to use the policy templates to create trouble tickets or I can create a new policy using the same actions?

It is not mandatory to use the policy templates, however, using a policy template gives you an advantage of getting readily available policies with mapping and transformations already applied. Hence, BMC recommends that you use the templates to create policies.

Are there any more policy templates available for other actions in BMC Helix Intelligent Automation?

No. Currently, only two templates are available to enable you to create trouble tickets in BMC Helix for CSP and to send an information event that contains the ticket details to BMC Helix Operations Management.

Can I use only one of the two policies available for creating trouble tickets in BMC Helix for CSP?

If you do not use the second policy, Create an Information Event, you will not be notified of the ticket creation or updates in BMC Helix Operations Management unless you manually check the History page in BMC Helix Intelligent Automation. Hence, BMC recommends that you create both the policies for the solution to be implemented successfully.

Can I add more actions to the policies that create trouble ticket or send an information event?

No. As of now, you cannot add any more actions to the policies created by using these templates.

Why does an automation developer see only a few connectors?

Can an automation developer see the results of a policy run?
