BMC's Helix ITSM services support a rich set of browsers and devices to enable access to the applications.

These services currently support the following browser versions:


Supported browsers for the current release of BMC Helix ITSM services, including Smart IT include:
  • Mozilla Firefox 73.x or higher (with Microsoft Windows 10 and later)
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 (with Microsoft Windows 10 and later); Note: IE 11 has been found to be susceptible to performance issues, and therefore is not recommended.
  • Microsoft Edge (with Microsoft Windows 10 and later) 
  • Apple Safari 11.1 or higher (with Macintosh OS X)
  • Google Chrome 79/80 or higher (with Microsoft Windows 10 and later or Macintosh OS X)

These services currently support the following mobile devices for BMC Helix Remedy with Smart IT:

  • iOS 10 and higher (iPhone, iPad)
  • Apple watchOS 2.0 and higher
  • Android 5.1 and higher (Android devices)

To view the supported browsers for BMC Helix Digital Workplace services, access the Architecture Compatibility Model utility. You must login to Support Central to view this page. If you have not yet registered for access to Support Central, click here.

Once you have accessed this page, in the SEARCH FOR A BMC PRODUCT OR PREREQUISITE TECHNOLOGY section, start typing the product name and then select the desired product version from the display table. For example, type in "BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced" and select version 19.11.00. You will be shown compatible operating systems, including mobile operating systems. To review other BMC compatible products, select the Compatible BMC Products header. Additional detail may be listed in the Product Notes section at the bottom, including compatible web browsers.

These services currently support the following mobile devices for BMC Helix Digital Workplace Basic and Advanced:

  • iOS 10.3 and higher (iPhone, iPad)
  • Apple watchOS 2.0 and higher
  • Android 5.1 and higher(Android devices)

The following recommended browsers have been thoroughly tested with BMC Discovery and the BMC Discovery Outpost. When you use one of these browsers, any application functionality problems are considered bugs.

  • Firefox (latest version)
  • Chrome (latest version)
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 and 11 (Desktop mode only; Windows UI/Metro mode is not supported; see the following note)

Note

Internet Explorer Compatibility Mode is not supported, as this forces the browser to behave as an older (unsupported) version. This behavior can be controlled with the Internet Explorer settings:

  • Tools > Compatibility View
  • Tools > Compatibility View Settings


The BMC Helix iPaaS service is supported on these major browsers:

  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari (macOS only)
