Rule Engine plug-in configuration

The Rule Engine plug-in is a stand-alone BMC Remedy rules-driven engine with the Java engine running in the back end. This plug-in provides the interface for defining and running rules, such as getting data from a data source and updating or processing data in the data source. The Rule Engine plug-in also facilitates asset management within the software license compliance functionality.

Plug-in type

Rule Engine is a Java-based Filter API plug-in.

AR System server connectivity

The Rule Engine plug-in connects to the AR System server when the user runs a job from the Manage License Job form. The Rule Engine plug-in (rle.jar) is installed in the <ARInstallationFolder>\pluginsvr\rle folder.

Configuration information

The configuration information of the Rule Engine plug-in is available in the AR System Administration: Plugin Server Configuration form. 

The AR System Administration: AR System Configuration Generic UI form the Server-Plugin-Alias setting that points to the correct plug-in server alias. For example:
Server-Plugin-Alias: RMDY.ITSM.RLE RMDY.ITSM.RLE myServer:9999
