Filtering by asset attributes in Asset Console

If you have created customized views for BMC Helix Innovation Studio based Asset Console and you upgrade from BMC Helix ITSM version 22.1.07 or earlier, you must update your customized views as described in this topic to enable filtering by the following asset attributes:

  • If you upgrade from BMC Helix ITSM version 23.3.00, you can directly skip to End of Support.
  • Make sure that the Actions column is always at the bottom of the list of the selected columns.


To enable filtering by the Receiving date in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications .
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add Received date.
  8. Click Received date and select the Filterable check box.

  9. Click Edit named filter options.
  10. In the Edit named filter options for Receiving date window, click Add Named filter option.

  11. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 30 days filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 30 days.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 30 days field, enter image-2024-1-17_15-12-10.png.

      Click       OK.
  1. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past week filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past week.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past week field, enter image-2024-1-17_15-20-50.png.
    4. Click OK.
  2. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 24 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 24 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 24 hours field, enter image-2024-1-17_15-25-24.png.
    4. Click OK.
  3. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 48 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 48 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 48 hours field, enter image-2024-1-17_15-27-43.png.
    4. Click OK.
  4. Click Save.


To enable filtering by the Installation date in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications .
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add Installation date.
  8. Click Installation date and select the Filterable check box.

  9. Click Edit named filter options.
  10. In the Edit named filter options for Receiving date window, click Add Named filter option.

  11. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 30 days filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 30 days.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 30 days field, enter image-2024-1-17_15-48-38.png.

      Click OK.
  12. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past week filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past week.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

  13. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 24 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 24 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

    4. Click OK.
  14. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 48 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 48 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 48 hours field, enter image-2024-1-17_15-50-59.png.
    4. Click OK.
  15. Click Save.


To enable filtering by the Available date in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications .
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add Available Date.
  8. Click Available Date and select the Filterable check box.

  9. Click Edit named filter options.
  10. In the Edit named filter options for Available date window, click Add Named filter option.

  11. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 30 days filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 30 days.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

  12. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past week filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past week.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 24 hours.

    4. Click OK.
  14. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 48 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 48 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 48 hours field, enter image-2024-1-17_16-0-27.png.
    4. Click OK.
  15. Click Save.


To enable filtering by the Return date in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications.
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add Return date.
  8. Click Return date and select the Filterable check box.

  9. Click Edit named filter options.
  10. In the Edit named filter options for Return date window, click Add Named filter option.

  11. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 30 days filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 30 days.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

  12. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past week filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past week.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

    4. Click OK.
  13. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 24 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 24 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

    4. Click OK.
  14. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 48 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 48 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 48 hours field, enter image-2024-1-17_16-9-25.png.
    4. Click OK.
  15. Click Save.


To enable filtering by the Disposal date in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications.
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add Disposal date.
  8. Click Disposal date and select the Filterable check box.

  9. Click Edit named filter options.
  10. In the Edit named filter options for Disposal date window, click Add Named filter option.

  11. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 30 days filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 30 days.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 30 days field, enter image-2024-1-17_16-16-17.png.

    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past week.

    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 24 hours.

    4. Click OK.
  14. Perform the following steps for setting up Past 48 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 48 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

    4. Click OK.
  15. Click Save.


To enable filtering by the Purchase date in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications.
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add Purchase date.
  8. Click Purchase date and select the Filterable check box.

  9. Click Edit named filter options.
  10. In the Edit named filter options for Purchase date window, click Add Named filter option.

  11. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 30 days filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 30 days.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 30 days field, enter image-2024-1-17_16-23-3.png.

  12. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past week filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past week.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

    4. Click OK.
  13. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 24 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 24 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

    4. Click OK.
  14. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 48 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 48 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

    4. Click OK.
  15. Click Save.


To enable filtering by the Last Scan date in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications.
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add Last Scan date_AssetCRD.
  8. Click Last Scan date_AssetCRD and select the Filterable check box.
  9. Rename the Column header as Last Scan date.

  11. In the Edit named filter options for Last Scan date window, click Add Named filter option.

  12. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 30 days filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 30 days.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

    4. Click OK.
  16. Click Save.


To enable filtering by the Modified date in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications.
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add Modified date_AssetCRD.
  8. Click Modified date_AssetCRD and select the Filterable check box.
  9. Rename the Column header as Modified date.

  11. In the Edit named filter options for Modified date window, click Add Named filter option.

    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 30 days.

  15. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 48 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 48 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.

    4. Click OK.
  16. Click Save.


To enable filtering by Part Number in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications.
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add Part Number_AssetCRD.
  8. Click Part Number_AssetCRD and select the Filterable check box.
  9. Rename the Column header as Part Number.

  10. Click Save.


To enable filtering by Impact in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications.
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add Impact_AssetCRD.
  8. Click Impact_AssetCRD and select the Filterable check box.
  9. Rename the Column header as Impact.

  10. Click Save.


To enable filtering by Urgency in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications.
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add Urgency_AssetCRD.
  8. Click Urgency_AssetCRD and select the Filterable check box.
  9. Rename the Column header as Urgency.

To enable filtering by the End of Support date in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications .
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add End of Support.
  8. Click End of Support and select the Filterable check box.

  14. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 48 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 48 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 48 hours field, enter End of Support_Expression4.png.
    4. Click OK.
  15. Click Save.


To enable filtering by the End of Extended Support date in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications .
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  8. Click End of Extended Support and select the Filterable check box.

    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 48 hours.

    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 48 hours field, enter End of Extended Support_Expression4.png.
    4. Click OK.
  15. Click Save.


To enable filtering by the End of Security Support date in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications .
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  8. Click End of Security Support and select the Filterable check box.

    4. Click OK.
  14. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 48 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 48 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 48 hours field, enter End of Security Support_Expression4.png.
    4. Click OK.
  15. Click Save.


To enable filtering by the End of Life date in Asset Console

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications .
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Asset Console SM.

  5. Select the Record grid component.
  6. In the Properties area, under General, click Edit grid columns.

  7. In the Edit Grid columns window, under Available columns, search and add End of Life.
  8. Click End of Life and select the Filterable check box.

  9. Click Edit named filter options.
  10. In the Edit named filter options for Receiving date window, click Add Named filter option.

  11. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 30 days filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 30 days.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 30 days field, enter End of Life_Expression1.png.

      Click OK.
  12. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past week filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past week.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past week field, enter End of Life_Expression2.png.
    4. Click OK.
  13. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 24 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 24 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 24 hours field, enter End of Life_Expression3.png.
    4. Click OK.
  14. Perform the following steps for setting up the Past 48 hours filter:
    1. In the Filter option name field, enter Past 48 hours.
    2. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
    3. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Past 48 hours field, enter End of Life_Expression4.png.
    4. Click OK.
  15. Click Save.
