Creating default application preference records

Until the user creates their own preference record, you create a default record that the system references.

Warning

When you use the Modify All statements to update application preference records, make sure that the qualification in your statement doesn't include the system default record. By using the Modify All option to update the system default record can have unexpected results. For example, if you change the Broadcast Auto Popup to Never, you might miss an important broadcast message. We recommend that you make a backup copy of the System Default Preference records before making changes to them.

To create default application user preferences

  1. From <application> Console > Functions, click Application Preferences.
  2. Modify the System Default record to include default preferences for each application module and then click Save.
