Upgrade process

Follow the sequence in this section to upgrade the TrueSight Operations Management environment:

Step 1: Prepare for TrueSight Operations Management upgrade

Complete the pre-upgrade tasks to ensure a successful upgrade.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that you have the latest the TrueSight-Health-Check-Tool installed. Run the tool before and after you upgrade the TrueSight Operations Management components to review and resolve some of the common upgrade issues.
  • The installer validates that you are running the latest TrueSight Health Check Tool (2.6 or later) and checks the environment for performance and stability.
Fix all of the critical errors related to Upgrade Impact before you start the installer again, or else the installer won't allow you to proceed.

Step 2: Upgrade Remedy Single Sign-On (optional)

Remedy Single Sign-On (Remedy SSO) acts as the authentication tool to manage tenants (realms), user groups, and users for TrueSight Presentation Server and other TrueSight components.

Step 3: Upgrade TrueSight Presentation Server

The TrueSight Presentation Server provides the framework and console for all TrueSight Operations Management implementations. It provides a consolidated set of views for monitoring infrastructure, real and synthetic applications, and capacity planning. It also enables you to perform functions such as role-based access control and data management.

Step 6: Upgrade Real End User Experience Monitoring Software Edition

Real End User Experience Monitoring can be used to support your business needs such as: ensuring customer satisfaction by proactively monitoring web application performance and availability from the end-user perspective, measuring service levels, identifying web application problems before customers call for help, and diagnosing and restoring services faster.
