Filtering PATROL Agents
Use the Agent filter functionality to filter out PATROL Agents based on predefined properties and display a specific list of PATROL Agents on the Managed Devices page.
The default maximum number of PATROL Agents that can be displayed is 2000. You can change the display limit by entering the following command in the command prompt window:
tssh properties reload
You can perform actions such as install or deploy packages, or modify policy management settings, on this filtered list.

Agent Filter properties
Property | Description |

Agent Host Name | Host name of the computer on which the PATROL Agent is installed. Note: The value for the matches property must be a strict regular expression. Some examples of regular expressions that can be used:

Agent Port | Port number through which the PATROL Agent listens for incoming connections from the PATROL console. Use port numbers from 1025 to 65535. |
Agent Version | Version of the PATROL Agent. |
Agent Operating System | Operating system of the computer on which the PATROL Agent is installed. |
Agent IP Address | IP address of the computer on which the PATROL Agent is installed. If you select the Agent IP Address in the range condition, only IPv4 range is supported. |
Agent Tag | Tag applied on the PATROL Agent. |
Integration Service | PATROL Agents connected to the selected Integration Service. |
Infrastructure Management Server | PATROL Agents connected to the selected Infrastructure Management Server. |
Monitoring Solution Name1 | PATROL Agents on which the selected monitoring solution is installed. |
Monitoring Solution Version1 | PATROL Agents on which monitoring solutions of the specified version are installed. |
Tenant Name | Name of the tenant to which the PATROL Agent are associated via the Integration Service. |
1 - The Monitoring Solution Name property is only applicable to PATROL Agent version 10.0 and later.
You can set multiple conditions and also group the conditions to identify the agents.
Note: The values that you enter for the properties are not case-sensitive.
To create a filter
- Log on to the TrueSight console.
- Expand Configuration and select Managed Devices.
- From the Main action menu, select Create Agent Filter.
- In the Create Agent Filter section, specify filtering conditions in one of the following ways:
- To reuse the criteria from an existing policy, select Import Conditions From a Policy.
- To define a new filtering criteria, select Define Conditions and specify values for the relevant properties. To understand the list of available properties, see Agent Filter properties.
- Click Apply. The filtered PATROL Agents are listed in the Managed devices table.
To save a filter
- Create a filter.
- Click Save.
- Specify a unique name for the filter and click OK.
- (Optional) To create a copy of the filter with modified or new conditions, click Save As. Specify a unique name for the filter and click OK.
To display saved filters
- Log on to TrueSight console.
- Expand Configuration and select Managed Devices.
- From the Main action menu, select View Saved Filters.
A list of the saved filters is displayed as separate buttons.
To use a saved filter
After you save an Agent filter, you can use it at any time to filter out the unwanted PATROL Agents.
- Display saved filters.
- Click the saved filter button that you want to apply.
The filtered PATROL Agents are listed in the Managed devices table. The name and conditions for the selected filter are displayed in the right pane above the table.
To modify a saved filter
- Display saved filters.
- For the saved filter that you want to modify, click the filter action menu and select Edit.
- Modify the filter conditions and click Update.
To delete a saved filter
- Display saved filters.
- For the saved filter that you want to delete, click the filter action menu and select Delete.
The selected saved filter is removed from the list.
