Manage risks proactively by leveraging Change Risk Advisor
When infrastructure-based changes are implemented in an organization, the direct impact on service health and performance is not easily identifiable. Most often, change risk assessment is a manual and time-consuming activity. Lack of proper risk assessment might lead to issues resulting in service outages and cause further disruption to the business.
BMC Helix AIOps connects with BMC Helix ITSM to display change requests created in BMC Helix ITSM over a predefined period. When you investigate the change request, the status, AI-generated risk level, severity, and impacted services are displayed in addition to the request details. The number of open situations, situations that occurred in the past due to similar change requests and the status display the current health of the service.
By connecting with BMC HelixGPT, BMC Helix AIOps generates insights derived from historical change requests, which helps in making informed decisions proactively before implementing changes.
For more information, see Managing-risks.
Monitor and investigate vulnerabilities impacting a service
The BMC HelixGPT Vulnerability Resolver introduced by BMC has extended the capabilities of BMC Helix AIOps to address the need for a robust vulnerability management solution. You can observe the open vulnerabilities affecting your organization’s services, assess the risks associated with these vulnerabilities, and quickly prioritize vulnerability remediation.
To access this solution, enable the Vulnerabilities feature from the Configurations page in BMC Helix AIOps. For more information, see Enabling-the-AIOps-features.
The Vulnerabilities page provides relevant information about the services used by your organization in one place. You can view the following information:
- The top impacted services
- The top remediation owners, that is the user or user group that owns a vulnerability
- The top vulnerabilities
You can leverage BMC HelixGPT to view a human-readable, AI-generated summary of each vulnerability and generate remediation content for it. To enable BMC HelixGPT, contact BMC Support.
For more information, see Managing-risks.
Generate log insights from Splunk Enterprise and ElasticSearch
Use BMC Helix AIOps with BMC HelixGPT to leverage your existing log data sources, such as Splunk and ElasticSearch, and generate log insights for an impacted service. Log insights summarize and generate actionable insights by analyzing massive amounts of log data, which helps investigate and remediate a situation faster.
Configuring the data sources in BMC HelixGPT Manager allows you to generate log insights from one or more supported external data sources. For more information, see Adding data sources in BMC HelixGPT.
For more information about how log insights help investigate situations, see Investigating-ML-based-situations.

Enhanced Status filter on the Situations page
On the Situations page, the Status filter includes Acknowledged and Assigned statuses in addition to the Open status by default.
You can also use the Advanced Filter > Status option to view situations with the Blackout and Closed status.
For more information, see Monitoring-situations.
Add details when requesting for automation
You can add information in the Details text box when requesting automation for events or situations. This information is displayed in the request details panel in BMC Helix Intelligent Automation and can be helpful for automation engineers when creating an automation policy based on the request.
For more information, see Requesting-for-a-new-automation.
View attributes of a service
From the Node Details pane of a service, view the attributes of the service. These attributes are retrieved from the BMC Helix Discovery taxonomy.
For more information, see Investigating-the-service-nodes-from-service-hierarchy-view.
View attributes of a CI
From the Node Details pane of a configuration item (CI), view the attributes of the CI. These attributes are retrieved from the BMC Helix Discovery taxonomy.
For more information, see Identifying-the-impacted-CI-nodes-from-CI-topology-view.
Use advanced filters to view only specific nodes in the service hierarchy
Use the advanced filter options, Name, Kind, Status, and labels on the Service Hierarchy tab to display specific nodes. For example, to view only technical services from the hierarchy, select Advanced filter > Kind > Technical Service.
Advanced filters help you locate specific nodes quickly and troubleshoot issues faster.
For more information, see Investigating-the-service-nodes-from-service-hierarchy-view.
View situation details in a new tab or window
Right-click a situation name on the Situations or service details page to view the situation details in a new tab or window. This capability helps you analyze multiple situations simultaneously.
For more information, see Monitoring-situations and Analyzing-situations-for-a-service.
Set service hierarchy as the default view
By default, when you click a service, the CI Topology tab is displayed. You can change the default view to display the Service Hierarchy tab by clicking the actions menu , and selecting Set as default view.
For more information, see Identifying-the-impacted-CI-nodes-from-CI-topology-view.
