HP MSA Storage Systems Discovered Information

BMC Discovery collects information for each HP MSA storage system in your IT infrastructure through the SNMP requests.

To view storage systems information

1. From the homepage, navigate to the Quick View section, and click the Storage System icon to display the list of the discovered storage systems.
2. In the Storage System list, double-click the HP MSA storage system.

The following table lists the storage system information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console:

Storage system information	Description
Name	Name of the storage system.
Type	Type name of the storage system.
Client Access Types	Ways in which a client host can access the storage provided by this system.
Vendor	Storage system vendor.
Model	Model name.
Serial Number	Storage system serial number.
Total Oversubscribed Capacity	Total space oversubscribed in the storage system in bytes.
Managed by Storage Device	Storage device that manages the storage system.
IPv4 Addresses	List of IPv4 addresses used by the storage system.
Network Interfaces	List of the network interfaces related to the storage system.

To view storage devices information

To access the collected information for storage devices, click the Storage Device link on the Storage System page.

The following table lists the Storage Device Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.:

Storage device	Description
Name	Name of the storage device.
Type	Type of the host.
Vendor	Storage device vendor.
Model	Model name of the storage device.
Testing Status	Result of the connectivity test.
Serial Number	Storage device serial number.
System Name	Name of the related storage system.
System Object ID	Storage device unique identifier.
OS Class	Operating system class.
OS Type	Operating system type.
OS Vendor	Operating system vendor.
Managed Storage Systems	List of the storage systems managed by the storage device.
Discovery Access	Discovery access history for the storage device.

To view IP addresses information

1. From the Explore tab, select the Infrastructure option.
2. Navigate to the Storage Systems in the Infrastructure Summary section.
3. Select a storage system from the list.
4. In the IP Addresses section, click the IP Address link to display a list of the IP addresses associated with the storage system.
5. Select an IP Address from the list.

The following table lists the IP address information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console:

IP address information	Description
IP Address	IP address of the storage system node.
Type	Type of IP address (IPV4 or IPV6).
Netmask	Indicates which part of the IP address is reserved for the network and which part is available for host use.
Broadcast Address	Broadcast address within the subnet.
Storage System	Storage system related to the IP address.

To view network interfaces information

1. From the Explore tab, select the Infrastructure option.
2. Navigate to the Storage Systems in the Infrastructure Summary section.
3. Select a storage system from the list.
4. In the Network Interfaces section, click the Network Interface link to display a list of the network interfaces associated with the storage system.
5. Click a Network Interface in the list.

The following table lists the network interface information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console:

Network interface information	Description
Interface Name	Name of the network interface.
MAC Address	Unique identifier assigned to the network interface.
Speed (Mbps)	Speed of the network interface.
Storage System	Storage system related to the network interface.
ifIndex	Network interface index identifier.
Description	Description of the network interface.
