HP MSA Storage Systems
HP MSA storage systems are discovered through an SNMP agent.
As part of routine discovery, when the IP address of an HP MSA server is detected, a StorageDevice node is created and added to the BMC Discovery infrastructure by using SNMP requests. If storage entities are discovered, they are modeled in BMC Discovery.
Before you begin
To discover HP MSA storage systems, make sure that you have the following configurations:
- SNMP credentials valid for the HP MSA storage device. We recommend setting the SNMP query timeout to at least 90 seconds to cover queries of any length.
- BMC Discovery must be on a network that can access the HP MSA storage device.
Supported platforms and versions
- MSA 1040 SAN
- MSA 2050 SAN
- MSA 2052 SAN
- MSA 2060 SAN
