22.2.01
Collect events and metrics from separate Prometheus sources
BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations supports collection of events and metrics from separate Prometheus sources instead of a single source as done in previous releases. Therefore, you need to create individual source connections for both events and metrics.
To collect events, create a source connection by using the Prometheus Alerts tile. For more information, see Integrating with Prometheus to collect events. | |
To collect metrics, create a source connection by using the Prometheus Metrics tile. For more information, see Integrating with Prometheus to collect metrics. |
Authentication-based connection to Prometheus
Authenticate the Prometheus host when you connect with it by using a valid user name and password.
For more information, see Integrating with Prometheus to collect events and Integrating with Prometheus to collect metrics.
Collect metrics from Zabbix
Collect performance metrics from a Zabbix source, and view and analyze them in BMC Helix Operations Management.
For information, see Integrating with Zabbix.
Event class for each integration in BMC Helix Operations Management
Starting from this version, the StreamWeaver class is no longer supported. For each supported source, a subclass is created under the IIMonitorEvent class in BMC Helix Operations Management.
In this version, when you configure integrations with the following sources, subclasses are created as listed in the following table:
Source | Subclasses |
---|---|
AppDynamics | AppDynamicsEvent |
Aternity | AternityAlert |
Microsoft SCOM | ScomEvent |
New Relic | NewRelicEvent |
Prometheus | PrometheusAlert |
For information about the sources supported by BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations, see Supported out-of-the-box integrations for BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations.
For information about classes and their hierarchy, see
Event classification and formatting
.
Collect logs from Windows-based applications
Collect and analyze logs from Windows-based applications.
Configure the log expression, date format, and filtering configurations for collection. For more information, see Collecting logs from files.

Collect data from additional third-party products
BMC Helix Intelligent Integrationscollects data from the following third-party products:
Topology data from BMC Helix CMDB.
For more information, see Integrating with BMC Helix CMDB.
Alert and metric data from Prometheus.
For more information, see Integrating with Prometheus.
Event and metric data from Splunk.
For more information, see Integrating with Splunk Enterprise.
Event and topology data from Zabbix.
For more information, see Integrating with Zabbix.
New event classes for integrations configured by using BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations
When you use BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations for the first time to configure an integration with a third-party source, the IIMonitorEvent class is created in BMC Helix Operations Management. In addition, a new subclass is created under this class for that source. When you configure an integration with any other source later, a subclass is created for that source except for the following sources:
- AppDynamics
- Aternity
- Microsoft SCOM
- New Relic
A single streamweaver class is available for these sources. For information about classes, see
Event classification and formatting.
For information about the sources supported by BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations, see Supported out-of-the-box integrations for BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations.
Collect logs from Amazon Web Services
Collect and analyze all application and services logs from Amazon Web Services (AWS) by using the Amazon CloudWatch service.
Configure AWS regions, groups, and streams for log collection. For more information, see Collecting logs from cloud (AWS).
