BMC Helix Digital Workplace Basic and Advanced activations

The BMC Helix Digital Workplace service enables business users to connect with IT or HR anywhere, any time, and on any device using a self-service application. Activation of this service provides basic setup and configuration. Once activation is complete, you will receive an email with login credentials and information about accessing the service.

As activation activities are completed, BMC sends you an email message with credentials and general information about accessing and using your service. The URL for your BMC Helix Digital Workplace service follows these formats:

Digital Workplace Basic or Advanced:

  • Development environment: https://<customerprefix>-dev-dwpcatalog.onbmc.com
  • QA environment: https://<customerprefix>-qa-dwpcatalog.onbmc.com
  • Production environment: https://<customerprefix>-dwpcatalog.onbmc.com

Digital Workplace Self-Registered User:

You will define <customerprefix> when registering your service in the BMC SaaS registration portal. This prefix must be unique and may not contain special characters.

Important

Customers can customize the text within <customerprefix>. BMC determines the customer-specific URL and custom URL naming conventions are not allowed.

 Additional environments, if purchased, must follow a similar naming convention as the environments listed above, but with the following naming extensions:

Activation activities include the following:

  1. Provision the following BMC Helix Digital Workplace Basic or Advanced, and/or Self-Registered User (depending on purchase) environments:
    • Development — This environment is used for implementing and testing system changes and provides visibility to new releases. The development environment is fully accessible by customers and their authorized representatives. You will be provided with an administrator ID to this environment.
    • Quality Assurance (QA) — The QA environment serves as a staging environment for implementing and testing system changes as a part of the change promotion process. This environment is directly managed by the BMC SaaS Operations team to ensure a stable, monitored, and change-controlled environment.
    • Production — Your production environment is for customer-authorized users and provides access to the live, operational system. This environment is directly managed by the BMC SaaS Operations team and is monitored and proactively managed with BMC tools to ensure BMC meets or exceeds its service level agreement. 
  2. Provision user credentials for one administrator user, for authenticating to the BMC Digital Workplace Basic or Advanced environments
  3. Enable the features that help you to maintain BMC Helix Digital Workplace services; and to help your end users have a smooth interaction with BMC Helix Digital Workplace. For more information, see License types and features Open link .
  4. Test and verify that the solution is available and accessible.
  5. Provide a mobile download URL for Apple iOS and Android applications
  6. Advise customer on mobile application re-signing instructions.
