Using the BMC Remedy Deployment Application

The Deployment Application enables deployment managers to promote BMC Remedy AR System service request definitions (SRDs), process definition templates (PDTs), and supporting data easily and reliably across environments. With this feature, deployment managers can migrate data with one package. The objects can be packaged with other customizations, making deployment much easier.

Important

The deployment manager performing the export must be a member of the Company for which data is being exported.

Use the following process to migrate data with the Deployment Application:

  1. Prepare your destination server.
  1. Using the Deployment Application on the source server, create a package that includes the SRDs, PDTs, and supporting data to be deployed to the target server.
    See
Creating and deploying a package using BMC Remedy Deployment Application  in the BMC Remedy AR System documentation for detailed instructions on using the Deployment Application for data migration.
After you create the package, the Deployment Application validates the package and deploys it on the target server.
  2. On the remote server, use the AR System Deployment Management Console to import the package.
