Defining static menu questions

You can create static menu questions that provide a simple menu of options to users.

To define static menu questions

1. Open the Questions & Mappings dialog box for an SRD.
2. On the Questions tab, click Add Question.
3. In the Question Text field, enter a question for users.
    If you want to enter the greater than (>) or less than (<) sign in the Question Text field, use encoded text (&gt for >, and &lt for <); otherwise, browsers will interpret the greater than and less than signs as HTML markup, which is not supported.
4. (Optional) In the Instructions field, enter instructions on responding to the question.
5. In the Question Format field, select Menu.
6. In the Menu Type field, select Static.
7. In the Displayed Value field, enter the value that appears to users (for example, Accounting).
8. In the Stored Value field, enter the actual value stored in the database (for example, Calbro Accounting).
   While the Displayed Value determines what the user sees on the screen, the Stored Value determines the value that is processed in the system. By default, they are the same. If you choose to set a different Stored Value, you must also specify Internally Represented Response in the question mapping. For more information, see Question format restrictions.
   Do not enter the same Stored Value for different Displayed Value.
9. Click Add.
10. Repeat step 7 through step 9 for each option you want to add.
11. Click Save.
