Configuring BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker
As an administrator, you must configure BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker to leverage the supported integration features. The configuration includes tasks like providing the server details, providing service provider details, setting up your systems, and so on.
The following image shows the tasks that you must perform to configure BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker:
Perform preconfiguration tasks
Before you start using BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker, you must perform the preconfiguration tasks that help you to set up the product; for example, adding server details, configuring user credentials, and so on.
To get a list of tasks, see Performing-preconfiguration-tasks.
Configure services
You can add services to the BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker service dashboard and view the health of these services. This helps you analyze the service data, gain insights into the service performance, and take necessary actions on the services.
To learn about adding services, see Setting-up-the-Service-Dashboard.
Configure risk assessment
To support the evolving needs of a business, the DevOps and IT change governance teams need to quickly approve the change requests and deploy the changes. However, the teams should also make sure that they evaluate the risks related to a change and deploy the correct changes. To ensure efficient risk evaluation, you can leverage the risk management configurations that BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker provides.

Configure integration details
After you've performed the preconfiguration tasks, you start configuring the integrations.
Select the integration features
BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker groups integrations with third-party applications under integration features based on the functionality, as shown in the following image:
You select the integration features that you want to implement and complete the tasks as displayed in the Quick Configuration Guide.
Filter criteria
You can specify multiple filter criteria based on which BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker fetches the BMC Helix ITSM tickets.
To get a list and brief overview of the integration features, see BMC-Helix-Multi-Cloud-Broker-overview.
To get a list of the out-of-the-box integrations available for these features, see the following topics:
Configure and enable integration templates
To enable an integration between BMC Helix ITSM and third-party applications, you can use BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit, BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by MuleSoft, or BMC Helix Integration Service as the underlying integration technology.
After you select the integration technology, you configure the following components that help you connect applications and transfer data between them:
Component | Component name | Description |
---|---|---|
Connector | Helps connect the integration technology you select with an external database. | |
Variable/property | Helps to store your system details; for example, instance URL, credentials, authentication mechanism. | |
(Optional) Field mappings | Helps you to display data from one application to another application; for example, ticket status, ticket priority, and assignee. Important: Out of the box, integration templates provide basic field mappings that help you implement the integrations. However, you can update the out-of-the-box mappings and also map custom fields for some integrations. |
