Displaying business events and outages on the calendar view as additional ticket types


If you have created customized views for BMC Helix Innovation Studio based Calendar and you upgrade from BMC Helix ITSM version 22.1.07 or earlier, you must update your customized views as described in this topic to display the business events and outages in Calendar.


To display the business events in the calendar

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications.
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Calendar.

  5. Select the Calendar component.
  6. In the Properties area, under Field mappings for filters, click Edit filter mappings.

  7. In the Add/Remove Filter Mappings window, select Data Provider ID > Edit named filter options.

  8. In the Edit named filter options for Ticket Type window, click Add named filter option.

  9. In the Filter option name field, enter Business Event.
  10. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
  11. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Task field, enter ‘380’ = “Business Time Shared Entity-Entity Association_Join_Join.

  12. (Optional) Alternatively, in Available values, in the Filter field, search for Type.

  13. Select the Enable named filter check box.  
  14. Click Save.


To enable the fetching of business events for the calendar

As an administrator, perform the following steps to display business events in Calendar:

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications.
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Calendar.

  5. Select the Calendar component.
  6. In the Properties area, turn on the Fetch business events? toggle key.

To display the outages in the calendar

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Best Practice mode.
  2. On the Workspace tab, click Applications.
  3. Click ITSM Application.
  4. On the Views tab, click the customized copy view of the default view Default Calendar.

  5. Select the Calendar component.
  6. In the Properties area, under Field mappings for filters, click Edit filter mappings.

  7. In the Add/Remove Filter Mappings window, select Data Provider ID > Edit named filter options.

  8. In the Edit named filter options for Ticket Type window, click Add named filter option.

  9. In the Filter option name field, enter Outage.
  10. Under Filter, select Click to build an expression.
  11. In the Edit expression window, in the Expression for Task field, enter ‘380’ = “AST:CI Unavailability”.

  12. (Optional) Alternatively, in Available values, in the Filter field, search for Type.
    You can then add the complete expression as image-2024-1-17_13-56-38.png.
  13. Select the Enable named filter check box.  
  14. Click Save.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
