Required ports


This topic lists the port numbers and the associated network traffic that are used by the BMC Helix ITSM application. The ports must be open to enable communication through the firewall for the applications to operate successfully. If port numbers have been changed from the default values, then modify the firewall configuration to match the default values.

For the BMC Helix ITSM server and client applications, you must verify that the following ports are open and enabled for communication through the firewall:

  • TCP port 2195 outbound from BMC Helix ITSM Server to Apple Push Notification Service at 17.0.0.0/8
  • TCP port 5223 outbound from iOS devices to 17.0.0.0/8
  • TCP port 443 outbound from iOS devices to 17.0.0.0/8, as a fallback over WiFi when devices cannot communicate over port 5223

Google notification

  • HTTPS ports 5228, 5229, and 5230 inbound from the Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) at *.googleapis.com to Android devices
  • HTTPS port 443 outbound from the BMC Digital Workplace and BMC Helix ITSM server to *.googleapis.com
