Updating the release request and moving it to Planning

As you track and supervise a release request, you move it from one milestone to another (for example, from Initiate to Planning). When you select different milestones, the messages alert you if you need to complete more fields in the request.

To modify release requests

1. Open the release request.
2. On the Release form, make the appropriate changes.
3. (Optional) Add manifests to the release request.

4. (Optional) Modify the release request assignments.
   For more information, see Assigning-release-requests.
5. (Optional) Relate a CI or some other object to the release request.
   For more information, see Managing-relationships-between-requests-and-other-records.
6. (Optional) Modify the start and end dates of the release request.
   For more information, see Planning-and-scheduling-release-requests.
7. Save your work.

8. Use the Process Flow Status bar to move the release request forward to the Initiation Approval phase.

   Warning

   Important

   Out-of-the-box, release requests must be approved before they move to the Planning milestone. For more information, see Approving-change-requests-in-the-Approval-stage and Approving-release-requests.

9. After the release request is approved, use the Process Flow Status bar to move the release request forward to the Initiation Registered status.
10. Use the Process Flow Status bar to move the release request forward to the Planning Approval phase.
    The release must be approved before it can move forward. For more information, see Planning-and-scheduling-release-requests.
