FSM Gateway Server Requirements
This page outlines the hardware, software, and network prerequisites required to host the FSM Gateway and FSM Studio. To ensure a successful installation and optimal performance of your Field Service Management environment, verify that your target gateway server meets or exceeds these minimum specifications before proceeding with the setup.
FSM Gateway Hardware Requirements

FSM Gateway Prerequisite Software Requirements
The following software is required on the FSM Gateway Server before running the FSM InstallShield:
- Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 Runtime
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 - 2022 Redistributable Package (x86)
- Microsoft .NET 9 Runtime (x86)
FSM Gateway Compatibility Requirements

FSM Gateway Network Requirements
To ensure the FSM Gateway functions correctly, you must configure your network to allow bi-directional communication across two main channels.
Before proceeding with the installation, verify the following configurations:
- Open the FSM Mobile Client Port: Configure your firewall to allow bi-directional traffic on Port 1211. The FSM Service created during installation uses this port by default to communicate with the FSM Mobile Client, though you can specify a custom port during setup.
- Enable Instance Connectivity: Verify that your network routing allows the FSM Gateway server to communicate directly to and from your BMC Helix FSM instance.
