Enabling and configuring the Service Catalog Curator


As an administrator, empower catalog administrators with AI capabilities for creating services in the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog. Enable the Service Catalog Curator within the catalog to effectively create refined and optimized catalog services.

Before you begin

  • (Version 25.3.00) The Service Catalog Curator is by default configured with Azure GPT 4.1 large language model, which is provided out of the box. Make sure that you have selected the appropriate skill in the HelixGPT Agent Studio for the Service Catalog Curator.
  • To use a different LLM model, select the preferred model for the Catalog Service Curator skill from the list of supported models in the HelixGPT Agent Studio. For more information about the supported large language models, see Service parameters for the Service Catalog Curator.

  • In the HelixGPT Agent Studio, the Catalog Service Curator agent is available out of the box. For the BMC HelixGPT configuration, we recommend using the out-of-the-box Skill for it. For more information, see Out-of-the-box skills in BMC Helix Digital Workplace.
Important
  • Do not modify the default settings for the Agent, Skills, and Prompts. The modifications in the default settings are not supported.

To access the Service Catalog Curator

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog.
  2. Select Services Services.
  3. On the Service Management page, navigate to the My Services tab.
  4. Go to Application settings by clicking on the settings icon located at the top right corner.
  5. Turn on the toggle for the Service catalog curator to access the Catalog Assistant tab on the Catalog console.

(Optional) To configure the Service Catalog Curator view

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio.
  2. Select Workspace > Digital Workplace Catalog > Views > Catalog Service Curator.
  3. Select the HelixGPT chat component.
  4. In the Component properties, select the HelixGPT chat skill to use for the Service Catalog Curator by clicking on the component view​​​​.

  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Preview to see the URL from the address bar
    For example, https://https://companyURL/myit-sb/preview/myit-sb:Catalog%20Service%20Curator.

  7. Copy the URL to enable the Service Catalog Curator view, as explained in the To configure the URL for the Service Catalog Curator view.

(Optional) To configure the URL for the Service Catalog Curator view

  1. Log into the BMC Helix Innovation Studio.
  2. Select Administration > Digital Workplace Catalog > Global > Catalog Service Curator.
  3. Modify the copied URL by replacing preview with the iview.
    For example, https://companyURL/myit-sb/iview/myit-sb:Catalog%20Service%20Curator.

  4. Enter the modified URL in the Catalog Service Curator View URL field.

  5. Click Save.

After you save the configuration, the cache is rebuilt, and the Catalog Assistant button for the Service Catalog Curator is available on the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog console after a few minutes.
