Administering a guest portal
As a BMC Helix Digital Workplace super administrator, configure a guest portal so users can access the BMC Helix Digital Workplace application without registering. Perform initial administrative activities to prepare the portal for a guest administrator.
The guest administrator can design the guest portal and add catalog services by using the virtual marketplace in the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog. They can also carry out additional configurations as needed, making the portal accessible to guest users with anonymous access. This feature can coexist with the external portal configurations. The guest portal can be configured on a single tenant mode or Managed Service Provider (MSP) mode of the BMC Helix Digital Workplace application.
The appearance of the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Admin console differs for internal and guest administrators, depending on their permission levels. The following rules apply to the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Admin console:
- A super administrator is a user who is a BMC Helix Digital Workplace administrator with MyIT Super Admin permissions. The super administrator configures the company assignment settings for the guest portal and can also configure the guest portal requestor's URL.
- A guest administrator is a user who acts as a BMC Helix Digital Workplace administrator and who has MyIT Admin permissions. The guest administrator, who belongs to the assigned company, can view the list of portal administrators and configure the guest portal requestor's URL.
