Types of Comparisons
This list is a brief overview of the types of comparisons available in ComparePro.
Data Compare: Displays the following compare options:
- Basic Data Compare: Checks for differences between the data of databases, Microsoft Excel, XML as a table, delimited files, or flat files. Users can compare any type of data to any other type of data. For example, a flat file can be compared to XML as a table.
- Related Data Compare: Checks for differences between the data of related database tables.
Schema Compare: Displays the following compare options:
- General Schema Compare: Checks for structural differences between triggers, stored procedures, tables, fields, indexes, and foreign keys.
- Stored Procedure Compare: Checks for differences in the actual text of stored procedures.
- Trigger Compare: Checks for differences in the actual text of database triggers.
- Table Structure Compare: Checks for differences in the keys, indexes, and fields within tables or views.
Document Compare: Displays the following compare options:
- XML Document Compare: Checks for differences between XML data or schema definitions.
- Text Compare: Checks for differences in the actual text of selected documents.
