Types of Comparisons

This list is a brief overview of the types of comparisons available in ComparePro.

Data Compare: Displays the following compare options:

• Basic Data Compare: Checks for differences between the data of databases, Microsoft Excel, XML as a table, delimited files, or flat files. Users can compare any type of data to any other type of data. For example, a flat file can be compared to XML as a table.
• Related Data Compare: Checks for differences between the data of related database tables.

Schema Compare: Displays the following compare options:

• General Schema Compare: Checks for structural differences between triggers, stored procedures, tables, fields, indexes, and foreign keys.
• Stored Procedure Compare: Checks for differences in the actual text of stored procedures.
• Trigger Compare: Checks for differences in the actual text of database triggers.
• Table Structure Compare: Checks for differences in the keys, indexes, and fields within tables or views.

Document Compare: Displays the following compare options:

• XML Document Compare: Checks for differences between XML data or schema definitions.
• Text Compare: Checks for differences in the actual text of selected documents.
