Schema Compare Overview

A schema compare checks for differences between the content and structure of objects in a database with the objects in another database, or another instance of the same database. The maximum number of schema allowed in a General Schema comparison for both baseline and test is 25. The maximum number of files or tables allowed in a comparison is 100.

To create a schema compare

From the File menu, select New.

Select one of the following:

• General Schema Compare, including any combination of stored procedures, triggers or table comparisons
• Stored Procedure Compare
• Trigger Compare
• Table Structure Compare, including views, indexes, keys and field names
