Schema Compare Overview
A schema compare checks for differences between the content and structure of objects in a database with the objects in another database, or another instance of the same database. The maximum number of schema allowed in a General Schema comparison for both baseline and test is 25. The maximum number of files or tables allowed in a comparison is 100.
To create a schema compare
From the File menu, select New.
Select one of the following:
- General Schema Compare, including any combination of stored procedures, triggers or table comparisons
- Stored Procedure Compare
- Trigger Compare
- Table Structure Compare, including views, indexes, keys and field names
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
