BMC products that support IMS managed ACBs

This page lists the BMC products that support application control blocks (ACBs) managed by IBM IMS.

Important

Starting on April 30, 2026, this page supersedes the list of products that support IMS managed ACBs previously maintained in UPDATED (ID 324763) Technical bulletin: Support for IMS-managed ACBs is available for various BMC products. From that date, any updates to the list will be made on this page, not in the technical bulletin.

We recommend that you follow this page to make sure that you receive email notification of any updates. We will update this notice only in the documentation portal.

At the top-right of the page, click Not Set.

The button text changes to Followed.
In the Not set watch settings dialog box, select Follow current page and click Save changes.

You can use these functions to build groups through the ISPF UI or in batch, validate groups, and generate recovery JCL. To use these functions, you must have IMS15 RESLIB and the updated CLIST. For more information, see Enabling IMS-managed ACBs. IMAGE COPY PLUS, CHANGE ACCUMULATION PLUS, RECOVERY MANAGER for IMS, and RECOVERY PLUS for IMS fully support IMS managed ACBs.
BMC AMI Backup and Recovery for IMS	5.2.00	BQQ7539		We have updated the IRM ISPF UI to provide the new CLIST delivered through a PTF to enable IMS managed ACBs. You'll need to apply the required PTF to use this updated CLIST.

BMC AMI Fast Path Enhanced Online Utilities	4.1.00	BMC AMI Fast Path Recovery for IMS and BMC AMI Fast Path Restart for IMS form part of the BMC AMI Fast Path Enhanced Online Utilities. When BMC AMI Fast Path Recovery for IMS and BMC AMI Fast Path Restart for IMS support IMS managed ACBs, BMC AMI Fast Path Enhanced Online Utilities will also start fully supporting IMS managed ACBs.
BMC AMI DevX File-AID for IMS	23.01	File-AID for IMS now supports DLI access when you use static PSB with IMS managed ACBs.
BMC AMI DevX Data Studio	23.06.01 20.15.10	DLI processing is currently not supported with IMS managed ACBs, but an enhancement we are currently working on should soon make it possible. Versions prior to 20.13 supported IMS managed ACBs, but not using a dynamic PSB.
