This topic describes the BMC AMI Recovery Manager for IMS (IRM) functions that IMS-managed ACBs affect and how to enable ACBs for both the ISPF interface and batch processing in IRM.
Areas affected by IMS-managed ACBs
When you enable IMS-managed ACBs, the following IRM functions are affected and might require validation or updates:
- Building a group via the ISPF UI
- Building a group in batch via (IRMBGPMN)
- Validating or rebuilding group function
- Recovery JCL generation
To enable IMS-managed ACBs
- Update the BMCIRM CLIST:
- Replace the existing version of the BMCIRM CLIST with the new version in the SAMP library delivered through PTF BQQ7539.
- Modify the CLIST in accordance with your site requirements.
- Start the IRM started task.
- Run the IRM UI CLIST by specifying an IMS V15 RESLIB.
- On the IRM Primary Menu panel, select option 3.
- On the IRMOP00 panel, select option 2 (IMS or sharegroup).
- Locate the record associated with the active RMGR by entering S in the Action column for the record for which YES is displayed under Associated with this RMGR.
- On the IRMSM00 panel, press Enter.
- On the IRMLB00 (MDALIB) panel, press Enter.
- On the IRMLB00 (DBDLIB) panel:
- (Optional) Remove the DBDLIBs (Database Definition (DBD) libraries).
- Press Enter.
- On the IRMLB00 (PSBLIB) panel:
- (Optional) Remove the PSBLIBs (Program Specification Block (PSB) libraries).
- Press Enter.
- On the IRMSM02 panel, enter the name of the IMS Catalog BSDS data set.
- Press PF3 (END) to save the updated record.
To enable managed-ACBs support during a batch group build (IRMBGPMN)
- Add an IMS Version 15 RESLIB to the STEPLIB DD concatenation.
- Submit the job.
- After the job starts, verify enablement by checking the JESMSGLG log for the following message:
