Note

To use the Online Object Deploy option, BMC AMI Change Manger for IMS TM must be active in the required IMS.

  1. From the main screen, click Apps.
  2. From the Implement box, click Online Object Deploy.
  3. Select a RECON data set from the list and select an associated IMS ID.
  4. Select one of the following options:
    • Refresh—Use this option to stop, reload the object online control blocks, and restart the object. Refresh is useful for resetting corrupted control blocks, reloading user exits (such as randomizers), and so on.
    • Activate—Use this option to list objects in the staging directory, optionally disassemble them, and compare them to the active directory and, if required, "Activate" them, meaning move them from the staging directory to the active directory, and reload the object with those changes. This is similar to an IMPORT command, but can be done on an object-by-object basis.
  5. Apply the required filters.
  6. Specify the maximum number of entries to be displayed.
  7. Click List Databases.
  8. From the listed databases, select the required databases, and to refresh a database, click Refresh Selectedss4_refresh.png
  9. The following figure shows an example of a disassembly and comparison of the staging and active copy of an object.  After verifying that the changes are correct, select the required databases in the list and click Activate Selected ss5_activate.png

Note

  • Activate only applies to an IMS Managed ACBs environment. Refresh applies to any environment.
  • Both the options require BMC AMI Change Manger for IMS TM to be active.
  • Activate applies to IMS Managed ACB environments. These environments use staging and active "directory" data sets to save the online object definitions.
  • After a successful activate, the object is removed from the staging directory, and the active copy gets updated.
