Viewing device details


For detailed analysis and remediation, the Device Details page displays detailed information about each device.

Information displayed in the Device Details page

The Device Details page displays the device name, type, DNS name, IP address, and source name.

If the device is synchronized from multiple Infrastructure Management servers, the Source Name field and the action menu for cross-launch callout_2.PNG display the multiple Infrastructure Management servers.

Enabling the cross-launch menu on Chrome browsers

If the cross-launch menu option is missing on a Chrome browser, you must enable the Adobe Flash. By default, the Adobe Flash is disabled in the Chrome browsers. Perform the following actions to enable the cross-launch option:

  1. To the left of the web address, click Lock Lock, Info Information, or Not secureimage2017-12-11_18-50-29.png.
  2. To the right of Flash, click the Arrows Arrows.
  3. Choose Always allow on this site.
  4. Reload the page.

The number of monitors, PATROL Agents, and applications associated with the device are indicated by numbers. Click the number to view the relevant information in the tabs below.

Use the collapse option callout_3.png to collapse the device summary and event summary area to gain more display area for information in tabs.

The device summary and event summary area stays in view while you scroll through the device details page.

Click the help icon callout_4.png to launch context-sensitive help.

To view events using the events matrix

The event status and severity matrix callout_1.PNG displays the number of events in each status and severity.

Click any event count in the matrix to display the relevant events in the Events tab.

To add a device to your favorites

  1. Click the action menu callout_2.PNG and select Add to Favorites.
    The devices_FavIcon.png icon appears next to the device to indicate that it is a favorite.
  2. To remove a device from your favorites, click the action menu and select Remove from Favorites.

Summary of the tabs in the Device Details page

Tab

Description

Events

Displays all the events that are associated with the device. For more information, see Understanding-event-states.

By default, events of Critical, Major, Minor, Warning, and Information severity and Open, Acknowledged, and Assigned status are displayed.

To view events of a specific status and severity, click the appropriate event count in the events matrix.

Use the event action menu, event toolbar, or the Event Details page to perform event operations such as manage event ownership, set event priority, export event details, and so on.

 

Monitors

Displays all the monitors that are associated with the device. For more information, see Viewing-monitor-information-in-the-TrueSight-console.

Instance SID Name

You can see the Instance SID displayed when you hover over the Monitor name.

Use the action menu to change and sort the view. See Changing-the-view-on-the-Devices-page.

In the tile view, you can show or hide the monitor type and source name. See Customizing-the-Devices-page-in-the-TrueSight-console.

Agents

Displays all the PATROL Agents and integration services that are associated with the device.

Applications

Displays all the applications that are associated with the device.

Services

Displays all the services that are associated with the device.
