Monitoring devices from the TrueSight console


You use the Devices page to view information about the devices that TrueSight Infrastructure Management monitors and to view the overall health of the system.

Log on to the TrueSight console and select MonitoringDevices.

The following illustration provides an overview of the information that you can view and the actions that you can perform through the Devices page.

User tasks and features

Use the Devices page to perform the following tasks:

User task

Description

Filter the list of devices

Use the quick filters for device type callout_8.PNG, event status callout_9.PNG, and event severity callout_10.PNG to filter the list of devices.

Use the time filter callout_2.PNG to filter devices based on when events in the devices occurred.

For additional filtering options, customize the filters. See Filtering-devices.

Note

Applying the quick filters displays devices with at least one event in the selected status and severity. You can select multiple quick filters callout_12.PNGof device type, status, and severity.

Change the Devices page view

Use the action menu callout_11.PNG to select tile or table view.

Search for particular devices

Find a device quickly by searching callout_3.PNG.

Drill down and view device details

For detailed analysis and remediation, drill down into the Device Details page by clicking a device name or the events count.

Device name: Displays the Monitors tab in the Device Details page.

Events count: Displays the Events tab in the Device Details page.

Sort by Name or Severity

Use the action menu callout_13.pngto sort the page details by either device name or severity.

Customize the Devices page

Customize the Devices page to suit your needs through the Device Preferences menu (6). These settings are individual, user-based preferences and apply only to the Devices page.

Hide the quick filters to gain more display area for devices

Use the collapse filters option callout_5.PNG to collapse the quick filters area.

Toggle between displaying and hiding the quick filters area by using this option.

Set the Devices page as the default page when you log in to the TrueSight console

From the action menu callout_1.PNG, select Set As Landing Page.

Every time you log in to the TrueSight console, the Devices page is displayed by default.
