24.2.00
The following video (1:49) provides a high-level summary of the new features and enhancements in version 24.2 of BMC Helix Log Analytics.
Implement data-level access control
With data-level access control, you make sure that only relevant users can access log data. Associate user groups to collection and alert policies to implement the access control. Based on the selection criteria of an alert policy, events are generated only for the data that is accessible to the selected user groups.
For more information, see Generating-alerts-from-logs.
To view an end-to-end use case for this feature, see Controlling-access-to-the-log-data.
Filter logs before parsing them
Restrict the number of file type logs that are parsed in BMC Helix Log Analytics by filtering them before parsing. You can use regular expressions to filter file type logs. Prefiltering logs reduces the number of logs that are processed in the system, thereby enhancing system performance.
For more information, see Collecting-application-logs.
Use the Fully Qualified Domain Name in log connectors
BMC Helix Log Analytics supports the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) in log connectors.

Upgrade to the OpenSearch platform
BMC Helix Log Analytics supports the OpenSearch platform version 2.11.1. OpenSearch is a distributed search and analytics engine that is based on Apache Lucene.
For more information about OpenSearch 2.11.x, see the OpenSearch documentation.
