Product content TKU 2026-May-1

Technology Knowledge Update TKU 2026-May-1 contains additional product content for the 23.3, 24.1, 24.2, 24.3, and 25.2 versions of BMC Discovery.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. The appliance is restarted when product content is added to the update. You can prevent the restart, but none of the knowledge content will be installed if you do so.

The following features and enhancements are introduced within the scope of this release:

  • BMC HELIX PLATFORM: Added support for the following BMC PATROL knowledge modules (for more details, see the documentation here):
    • Application and middleware monitoring: BMC Remedy AR Server (DRDC1-27255), Oracle WebLogic (DRDC1-28100), and Veritas NetBackup (DRDC1-28610).
    • Virtualization system monitoring: Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (DRDC1-28647).
  • CLOUD/ALIBABA: Added support for discovering Alibaba virtual private cloud (VPC) subnets and related vSwitches. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-27093).
  • CLOUD/AZURE: Added support for importing Microsoft Intune devices, including hardware, OS, and ownership attributes, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-24302).
  • CLOUD/AZURE: Updated Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines discovery to use stable and supported API versions consistently. For more details, see (DRDC1-29088).
  • CLOUD/AZURE: Updated the pattern logic to track the state of Microsoft Azure Cloud subscriptions and ensure that only active subscriptions are displayed in BMC Discovery. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-26190).
  • CLOUD/KUBERNETES: Updated all Kubernetes patterns to check for consolidation before running an API scan; if the is_consolidation attribute equals True, no API scan runs. Otherwise, ECA errors might occur. For more details, see the documentation for Amazon Cloud Kubernetes, Google Cloud Kubernetes, Microsoft Azure Kubernetes, and (DRDC1-29083).
  • CLOUD/OCI: Updated version extraction logic for Oracle Database in OCI environments. Software Instance version is now taken from the OCI.Oracle.ListDbSystems output, and Database version is taken from OCI.Oracle.ListDatabases output, with DB home used as a fallback. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-26964 and DRDC1-29012).
  • CMDB SYNC: Updated CMDB sync mappings to ensure that Azure Kubernetes Service Clusters are correctly linked to related Business Application, Business Service, and Technical Service nodes. For more details, see (DRDC1-29018).
  • NETWORK DEVICES: Added support for importing BMC Helix Network Management data, enabling batch import and associating BMC Helix Network Management device GUIDs with existing BMC Discovery assets by using common identifiers. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28336).
  • NETWORK DEVICES: Added support for modeling the Palo Alto Panorama instance as a NetworkDevice during implicit scans of the Panorama API. Also, created a relationship link between Panorama and its managed network devices. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28354).
  • STORAGE/Dell EMC Unity: Updated the pattern to link NAS servers to their associated storage pools. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28903).
  • STORAGE/Hitachi Network Attached Storage (HNAS): Added a link from virtual storage systems to the storage system group. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28904).
  • VAULT: Added support for ARCON PAM Digital Vault as a credential broker for BMC Helix Discovery. For more details, see the documentationhere and (DRUD1-53220).

Defects

The following defect is fixed within the scope of this release: 

  • CLOUD/OCI: Fixed an ECA error during OCI scans caused by setting the SI's port to None and attempting to use it when no listener_port is available. For more details, see (DRDC1-29292).
  • CLOUD/OCI: Fixed an issue where OCI Network Load Balancers (NLBs) were not recorded as load balancer instances during discovery. For more details, see (DRDC1-29238).
  • STORAGE/Dell EMC PowerMax/Symmetrix (REST): Fixed an issue with incorrect versioning. For more details, see (DRDC1-28942).
  • STORAGE/Nimble: Fixed an issue where certain Nimble versions did not include expected IP address information in the REST API output, which resulted in an ECA error. For more details, see (DRDC1-29146).

Changes to discovery commands

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2026-May-1.

Model changes

The following taxonomy update is introduced within the scope of this release:

  • TAXONOMY/API Provider: Added Openshift.ListBaremetalHosts API call to get more host details for OpenShift API Discovery. For more details, see (DRDC1-26295).
  • TAXONOMY/NETWORK: Created a relationship between OrganizationalUnit and NetworkRoutingGroup. For more details, see (DRDC1-27926).
