Release highlights

In this release, we are delivering:

BMC HELIX PLATFORM: Added support for the following BMC PATROL knowledge modules (for more details, see the documentation here):

  • Application and middleware monitoring: BMC Remedy AR Server (DRDC1-27255), Oracle WebLogic (DRDC1-28100), and Veritas NetBackup (DRDC1-28610).
  • Virtualization system monitoring: Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (DRDC1-28647).

CERTIFICATES: Updated certificate patterns to ensure consistent formatting and attribute naming for subjects across TLS and Windows certificates. For more details, see (DRDC1-27587).

CLOUD:

  • ALIBABA: Added support for discovering Alibaba virtual private cloud (VPC) subnets and related vSwitches. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-27093).
  • AZURE: Added support for importing Microsoft Intune devices, including hardware, OS, and ownership attributes, with BMC CMDB integration. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-24302).
  • AZURE: Updated the pattern logic to track the state of Microsoft Azure Cloud subscriptions and ensure that only active subscriptions are displayed in BMC Discovery. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-26190).

CMDB SYNC: Updated CMDB sync mappings to ensure that Azure Kubernetes Service Clusters are correctly linked to related Business Application, Business Service, and Technical Service nodes. For more details, see (DRDC1-29018).

NETWORK DEVICES:

  • Added support for importing BMC Helix Network Management data, enabling batch import and associating BMC Helix Network Management device GUIDs with existing BMC Discovery assets by using common identifiers. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28336).
  • Added support for modeling the Palo Alto Panorama instance as a NetworkDevice during implicit scans of the Panorama API. Also, created a relationship link between Panorama and its managed network devices. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28354).

PATTERNS:

  • NGINX WEBSERVER: Resolved an issue with incorrectly identified and modeled Nginx Ingress Controllers. Now, the pattern models Nginx Ingress Controller Software Instances instead of Nginx Webserver when respective process is detected in SSH scans. Also, website instances modeled previously for Nginx Webserver will be destroyed. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-26854).
  • ORACLE DATABASE: Updated the pattern to report option and pack details at the Pluggable Database (PDB) level. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-26024).
  • RED HAT OPENSHIFT: Updated KubernetesFunctions and OpenShiftAPI patterns to process API output and assign model, serial, vendor, and RAM attributes to API baremetal hosts, and to model NetworkInterface and ProcessorInfo nodes. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-26295).

STORAGE:

  • DELL EMC UNITY: Updated the pattern to link NAS servers to their associated storage pools. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28903).
  • HITACHI NETWORK ATTACHED STORAGE (HNAS): Added a link from virtual storage systems to the storage system group. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28904).

VAULT: Added support for ARCON PAM Digital Vault as a credential broker for BMC Helix Discovery. For more details, see the documentationhere and (DRUD1-53220).

VIRTUALIZATION/NUTANIX: Added support for discovering Nutanix Categories Tags in Nutanix Central when scanned with the Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) REST API. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-27386).
