Viewing audit records

As a tenant administrator, you can use auditing, a common service provided by BMC Helix Portal, to log and view information about the operations performed on various objects in BMC Helix Portal and the integrated products.

Examples of objects for which information is logged:

  • Access keys and API keys
  • Access permissions
  • Organizations
  • Organization mapping
  • Roles
  • Users
  • User groups
  • User logins

The audit records include the following information about an operation performed on an object:

  • Changes done in the object (create, update, delete)
  • The user who performed the operation
  • Date and time when the operation was performed
  • IP address of the source that triggered the changes

For example, when permission is revoked for a user, the auditing service records information such as the name of the user who revoked the permissions and the user whose permissions were revoked.

BMC Helix Portal retains the audit records for 7 days for all tenants.
