To install the Operator Control Panel

Note

You can choose to install Operator Control Panel (OCP) with the CDP or independently.

If you are installing a non-English version of the OCP, you must install it separately from the CDP. You must install the non-English OCP and CDP on separate Tomcat servers.

While installing an OCP, the installation program searches for and uses the CDP server details.

  1. Navigate to the directory where the installation program files are downloaded and start the installation program.
    • Windows: setup.cmd
    • Linux: linux_bao_server_installer_vv_rr_nn.sh
  2. On the splash screen, select the language in which to view the installation program, and click OK.
  3. Review the welcome page, and click Next.
  4. Read the license agreement, agree to the terms, and click Next
  5. Select Install new Orchestrator components and click Next.
  6. Select Operator Control Panel and click Next
  7. Browse to select the directory to install the OCP and click Next
By default, the component is installed in the following directory (also referred to as AO_HOME in the documentation):
    • Windows: C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BAO\OCP
    • UNIX: /opt/bmc/BAO/OCP
  8. Enter the root port that you want to use for the OCP and click Next

If you install the OCP with the CDP, OCP is installed on 38080 port. If you are installing the OCP independently, use a different port number.

  9. (Optional) Click Edit Ports to change the default port values and avoid conflicts with other applications or operating system services on the target server and click Next.

By default, the OCP uses the following ports:

    OCP: 38080

    OCP Shutdown: 38050

  10. Provide the following information to connect the OCP with the CDP and click Next.
    1. Select the protocol as https.
    2. Type the hostname (in FQDN format) where the CDP in installed.
    3. Type the CDP port number.
The default port number is 38080.
    4. Type the name of the Grid specified while installing the CDP.
    5. Type the user name assigned to the AO Admin group.

The AO admin name used to authenticate against Remedy Single Sign-On (default is AoAdmin).

    6. Type the password that matches the aoadmin user.
    7. Type the Remedy SSO URL used by the CDP.
    8. Provide the realm name for the Remedy SSO authentication instance used in your environment.
The realm name is the same as the one used by the CDP.

      Note

      • If you are using the embedded Remedy SSO on the repository, CDP, or HA-CDP, the realm used by TrueSight Orchestration is BAOLocal.
      • If you are using the external Remedy SSO, provide the realm name for on the external Remedy SSO.
    9. Select your RSSO version from the list.
Depending on your current RSSO version, select an appropriate option. For example, if your current version is 20.02, select 18.x+.

      Note

The OCP always uses external Remedy SSO, which can be one of the following:

      • The Remedy SSO instance embedded on the repository.
      • The Remedy SSO instance embedded on the CDP or HA-CDP (if installed).
      • The external Remedy SSO that you specified during the repository installation or upgrade).

Typically the OCP uses the Remedy SSO that is used by the CDP or HA-CDP.

      Examples:

      • If using an embedded Remedy SSO on a repository server with the name bao-repository.mydomain, the URL is similar to the following:
        https://bao-repository.mydomain:28080
      • If using an embedded Remedy SSO on a CDP server with the name bao-cdp.mydomain, the URL is similar to the following:
        https://bao-cdp.mydomain:38080
      • If using an external Remedy SSO server with the name external-rsso.mydomain, the URL is similar to the following:
        https://external-rsso.mydomain:8080
  11. Click Advanced Options and change the details:
    1. Type the service name. The default value is BAO-OCP.
Typically, you would do this if you install more than one activity peer on the same host.
    2. Select the OCP protocol.
    3. Type the hostname in an FQDN format.
    4. Specify the cookie domain name for TrueSight Orchestration and BMC Remedy Single Sign-On, which controls the cookie visibility between servers within the domain.
You must specify the network domain of the computer on which you are installing the component. Example: yourcompany.com.
  12. To start the OCP server after installation, select Yes.
  13. Review the information and click Install.
  14. On the Installation Summary panel, perform one of the following actions:
    • To exit the installation program, click Done.
    • To review the BAO_install_log.txt file, click View Log, and then click Done to exit the installation program.
