Upgrading Data Visualization modules

If you are upgrading BMC Service Request Management, you must also upgrade the Data Visualization modules used in the Request Entry Console and Visual Process views.

To upgrade the Data Visualization modules

  1. Stop the web server or servlet engine on the computer on which the BMC Remedy Mid Tier is running.
For example, if you installed the default servlet engine that is included with the BMC Remedy Mid Tier 8.1.00, stop the Apache Tomcat servlet engine.
  2. Delete the SRMSServiceRequestBrowser folder located in the PluginsCache\<ARSystemServer> folder of the mid tier installation folder.
If you are running Microsoft IIS, the folder is located at the following default location:
    C:\Program Files\BMC Software\ARSystem\midtier\PluginsCache\<ARSystemServer>\SRMSServiceRequestBrowser
  3. Delete the Visualizer folder located in the PluginsCache\<ARSystemServer> folder of the mid tier installation folder.
If you are running Microsoft IIS, the folder is located at the following default location:
    C:\Program Files\BMC Software\ARSystem\midtier\PluginsCache\<ARSystemServer>\SRMSServiceRequestBrowser
  4. After you have deleted the SRMSServiceRequestBrowser and the Visualizer folders, you might also need to delete the cookies, temporary internet files, offline content, and history from your browser's cache.
Otherwise, you might experience problems properly displaying the list of service requests, along with other display issues, because the style sheets and images are cached to the browser.
  5. Restart the web server or the servlet engine.
