Setting up and going live

BMC Helix Digital Workplace is a self-service application for business users to connect with IT, HR, and other lines of business staff anywhere, anytime, and on any device.

In BMC Helix Digital Workplace, administrators can configure and enable several functionalities for the end users of the BMC Helix Digital Workplace end user console.

In BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog, administrators can manage and populate service catalog for end users.

BMC Helix Digital Workplace as a SaaS service

BMC Helix Digital Workplace is available as a subscription-based service that you can purchase with a BMC Helix ITSM subscription. After you subscribe to the service, BMC activates your system. For more information about your product activation, see BMC Helix Digital Workplace Basic service Open link or BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced service Open link  in the BMC Helix Subscriber documentation.

BMC Helix Digital Workplace as an on-premises container deployment

BMC has consolidated Service Management applications, including BMC Helix Digital Workplace, into a single environment known as BMC Helix Innovation Suite.

BMC Helix Digital Workplace combines capabilities of Action Request System and BMC Helix Innovation Studio. This consolidation enables you to simplify your deployment architecture significantly and reduce operational costs considerably.

(Optional) Upgrade to the supported versions

Based on the changes related to on-premises container deployment and convergence of Service Management applications in a single environment known as BMC Helix Innovation Suite, the on-premises upgrade approach is significantly different from past BMC Helix ITSM upgrades.

Upgrading to the supported versions require a staged upgrade approach that utilizes a parallel system environment and BMC Helix Data Manager. To effectively plan and schedule your upgrade, BMC requests that you utilize the BMC Assisted MIGration Offering (AMIGO) program. You can open an AMIGO case by calling Customer Support @ 1-800-527-1813, or  clicking this link Open link .

BMC Helix Data Manager requires a password to download, which will be provided to customers and partners participating in the AMIGO program.
