Service connector capabilities
Service connectors connect your catalog to external systems. BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog includes out-of-the-box connectors.
As a developer or an application business analyst, you can use BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit and MuleSoft, to integrate BMC Helix Innovation Studio applications with third-party applications. BMC Helix iPaaS is an Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS), used to connect BMC products with on-premises, cloud, and legacy third-party applications. Learn more about BMC Helix iPaaS integration in the documentation. For more information about the integration with BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit, see . For more information about the integration with BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by MuleSoft, see .
BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog also supports automation connectors configured in BMC Helix Innovation Studio. For more information about automation connectors, see in the official BMC Helix Innovation Studio documentation.
Before you begin
Before you can use a connector, you must create the connection and add configuration details, as described in Configuring service connectors. The following table lists the abilities of service connectors provided by BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog.
Connector name column—Indicates the link to additional details about the connector.
Catalog import column—Indicates connectors that provide the ability to import services or other items into the service catalog.
Process workflow column—Indicates connectors that can be used in the process workflow for service fulfillment.
Resource mapping column—Indicates connectors that provide the ability to map data resources to responses in the service questionnaire.
A blank cell indicates that the connector does not include the capability.

AWS Service Catalog connector
The AWS Service Catalog connector is connected to BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog via integration with BMC Helix Integration Service.
The AWS Service Catalog connector enables catalog administrators and internal service suppliers to import services from AWS Service Catalog available in the Amazon Cloud, and provision these services to end users.
This connector also provides a default service action that enables end users to terminate services that they have requested.
The Azure connector provides the ability to:
The TrueSight Orchestration Platform connector provides the ability to:
Citrix XenApp connector
The Citrix XenApp connector provides the ability to import virtual apps from the Citrix XenApp server as services to BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog. Each virtual application in XenApp is represented in Active Directory as a user group.
Citrix XenDesktop connector
The Citrix XenDesktop connector provides the ability to import virtual desktop from the Citrix XenDesktop server as services to BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog. Each virtual desktop in XenDesktop is represented in Active Directory as a user group.
Citrix XenMobile connector
The Citrix XenMobile connector provides the ability to provision a list of mobile applications available on the Citrix XenMobile server, such as enrolling a mobile device, and locking, unlocking, wiping, and locating an enrolled device.
The provisioning process is based on adding the requester's user account to an Active Directory group associated with the service. The connector also provides the ability to import services that are configured on the Citrix server.
Client Management connectors
The BMC Helix Client Management connectors provide the ability to:
The CMDB connector provides the ability to map a BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog service to a requestable offering in BMC Helix CMDB (CMDB) through the Service Options page. An application-specific data set must be configured and enabled. When configuring the CMDB connector, you must specify the data set name or data set ID for your services to be published.
For more information, see in the BMC Helix CMDB documentation.
Use of this connector requires a valid BMC Helix CMDB license (not provided by BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced, but included with BMC Helix ITSM).
BMC Helix CMDB is also integrated at the application level to provide real-time creation of and mapping between services and requestable offerings.
The Flexera connector provides the ability to query the Flexera database, request a license from the available licenses pool, and enable the provisioning of imported services through the Flexera App Portal. The connector also provides the ability to link Flexera data sets to parameters used by the process workflow. The connectors enable the importing of catalog items from the Flexera application manager.
This connector requires an account with Flexera (not provided) and an App Broker license.
Note: Before deploying BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog with the Flexera connector, turn off Negotiate authentication (only leave NTLM authentication) in IIS on the Flexera server.
