Administering

If you want to control the capabilities of users in the application, you must first obtain an administrator permission. Then, you enable and maintain features for your end users. You can prepare a ready-made solution for a company which employees only start working with the application or you can adjust settings to fulfill the needs of people collaborating in an already existing environment. Administrator's role is a key driver that sets up hybrid and flexible work environments.

For example, you have configured an application for a local e-shopping company Apex Global based in Finland. The company increased its presence in the USA, so apart from the basic Finish locale, you enable users to switch to their preferred locale English. Thus, as an administrator, you are able to meet the business needs of the company.

Before you begin

  • To manage the general capabilities of end users, obtain a BMC Helix Digital Workplace administrator permission; to manage catalog services and other Advanced features, obtain a BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog administrator permission.
  • If you administer the application deployed on-premises with containers, you might need to manage tenants.
