You can configure BMC Service Resolution in a multi-server deployment model of BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management. In a multi-server deployment, a central BMC TrueSight server communicates with several child servers.

For information about installing and configuring BMC Service Resolution in this deployment model, see Configuring BMC Service Resolution in multi server deployment model of BMC TrueSight.

The following topics are provided:

Information flow between BMC TrueSight and ITSM in BMC Service Resolution 3.0

The following diagrams illustrate the information flow:

Information flow for publishing CIs
Information flow for incident creation and policy configuration
  1. CI information is published from CMDB to the child servers.
  2. When an event occurs on a child server, an incident request is sent to the ITSM server for incident creation.
  3. The ITSM server pushes the incident event information to the Central server. The ITSM server can either be available on premises or as a SaaS.
  4. The Central BMC TrueSight server sends the incident event info to the correct child server.

Information flow between BMC TrueSight and ITSM in Service Pack1: 3.0.01

Starting with Service Pack1: 3.0.01, there is a change in the way information flows between BMC TrueSight and ITSM. The ITSM server does not push incident event information to BMC TrueSight. BMC TrueSight servers now pull the information using a web service.

The following diagrams illustrate the information flow:

Information flow for publishing CIs
Information flow for incident creation and policy configuration
  1. CI information is published from CMDB to the BMC TrueSight servers.
  2. When an event occurs on a BMC TrueSight server, an incident request is sent to the ITSM server for incident creation.
  3. Periodically, the BMC TrueSight server pulls the incident info event from the ITSM server using a web service.
