Verifying the BMC Digital Workplace and Smart IT server installation

This topic describes basic steps to verify that the BMC Digital Workplace and Smart IT installation completed.

Before you begin

Complete the installation as described in Performing the Smart IT and BMC Digital Workplace installation.

To verify the installation

Perform the following checks:

  • Check the Services and ensure that the  application service is running. For Windows, this service is Smart IT/MyIT Application. For Linux, this service is myittomcat.
  • Go to http://localhost:port/ux/admin and log on using MyIT Administrator credentials.

    localhost is the host name or IP address of the server, and port is the port defined for the administration console during installation. 

  • For Linux, the installer registers the following services:
    • myittomcat
    • myitmongod
    • socialserviced
    • openfire(only if Smart IT chat feature is installed)
  • For Windows, the installer registers the following services:

    •  SmartIT/MyIT Application  
    • MongoDB
    • MyITSocialService
    • openfire(only if Smart IT chat feature is installed)
