Mirroring BMC AMI Utility Management settings

You can mirror settings from an BMC AMI Utility Management view to one or more subsystems. Depending on your selections, the mirroring process transfers all criteria, exceptions, schedule, and (BMC.DB2.SPE2201) Open link  duration settings to the target subsystems and replaces the settings that reside on the target subsystems.

To mirror BMC AMI Utility Management settings

Use this procedure to mirror criteria, exceptions, or schedule settings:

  1. In the Product Tools perspective, select a BMC AMI Utility Management view from the navigation pane.

  2. Click Mirror settings  . 

  3. In the MIrror BMC AMI Utility Management Settings dialog box, perform the following tasks:
    1. In the Name field, accept the default name, or provide a name for the deployment.
      The name can contain up to 50 characters, including all printable ASCII characters.

    2. Select one or more Db2 subsystem connections to which you want to mirror the settings.

      Tip

        You can select to show only your favorites.

    3. Select whether to continue if an error occurs for a selected Db2 subsystem: 
      • Clearing the check box stops the deployment immediately.
      • Selecting the check box continues the deployment with the next Db2 subsystem.
    4. Click Next.
  4. On the Record Types page, clear any record types that you do not want to deploy.

    If BMC AMI Command Center detects a connection problem in a target Db2 subsystem the application displays an error message in the lower left-hand corner of  the wizard, which identifies the Db2 subsystem that has a connection problem.

  5. Click Next.
  6. On the Summary page, review the summary of the deployment, and click Finish:
    • The mirror deployment view is displayed under Deployment in the DB2 navigation pane.
    • The Results tab is displayed in the results pane.

    Important

    The Results tab displays details of the deployment processing.

  7. (Optional) To save the deployment report in a folder of your choice, perform the following tasks:
    1. Click View Report .
    2. Click Save Report .
  1. In the Product Tools perspective, select an NGT Utility Management view from the navigation pane.

  2. Click Mirror settings  . 

  3. In the MIrror NGT Utility Management Settings dialog box, perform the following tasks:
    1. In the Name field, accept the default name, or provide a name for the deployment.
      The name can contain up to 50 characters, including all printable ASCII characters.

    2. Select one or more Db2 subsystem connections to which you want to mirror the settings.

      Tip

        You can select to show only your favorites.

    3. Select whether to continue if an error occurs for a selected Db2 subsystem: 
      • Clearing the check box stops the deployment immediately.
      • Selecting the check box continues the deployment with the next Db2 subsystem.
    4. Click Next.
  4. On the Record Types page, clear any record types that you do not want to deploy.

    If BMC AMI Command Center detects a connection problem in a target Db2 subsystem the application displays an error message in the lower left-hand corner of  the wizard, which identifies the Db2 subsystem that has a connection problem. Click  for additional information about the connection problem.

  5. Click Next.
  6. On the Summary page, review the summary of the deployment, and click Finish:
    • The mirror deployment view is displayed under Deployment in the DB2 navigation pane.
    • The Results tab is displayed in the results pane.

    Note

    The Results tab displays details of the deployment processing.

  7. (Optional) To save the deployment report in a folder of your choice, click Report .

To mirror BMC AMI Utility Management settings by using an existing mirror deployment view

Use this procedure to mirror BMC AMI Utility Management settings that have already been defined in a mirror deployment view. For example, you might have corrected a Db2 issue that previously prevented the settings from being deployed.

  1. From the Product Tools navigation pane, select a BMC AMI Utility Management deployment view.
    The Results tab is displayed in the results pane.

  2. Click Mirror settings  .

  3. In the Mirror BMC AMI Utility Management Settings dialog box, select the subsystem connections to which you want to deploy the settings.

  4. Select whether to continue if an error occurs for a selected Db2 subsystem: 
    • Clearing the check box stops the deployment immediately.
    • Selecting the check box continues the deployment with the next Db2 subsystem.

  5. Click Next.
    A summary of the deployment is displayed.

  6. Click Finish.

  1. From the Product Tools navigation pane, select an NGT Utility Management deployment view.
    The Results tab is displayed in the results pane.

  2. Click Mirror settings  .

  3. In the Mirror NGT Utility Management Settings dialog box, select the subsystem connections to which you want to deploy the settings.

  4. Select whether to continue if an error occurs for a selected Db2 subsystem: 
    • Clearing the check box stops the deployment immediately.
    • Selecting the check box continues the deployment with the next Db2 subsystem.

  5. Click Next.
    A summary of the deployment is displayed.

  6. Click Finish.
