Viewing a BMC Atrium CMDB audit of a CI


The BMC Atrium CMDB audit shows information about a selected CI, as stored in BMC Atrium CMDB. The audit includes the date that the CI was created, the user ID of the creator, the date it was last modified, and so on.

Configuring auditing for a class Open link

For example, Allen Allbrook, a configuration administrator at Calbro Services, thinks that the data for a computer system might be inaccurate. He wants to view the audit history of the CI so that he can see all the modifications to this computer system during its history. He can investigate why the data is no longer accurate.

To view a BMC CMDB audit of a CI in BMC CMDB version 20.02.01 or later

  1. Open a CI, as described in Using search.
  2. In the navigation pane, select Functions > CMDB Audits.
    The data you view in the CI Audit table depends on how the CMDB:DefaultAuditLog form is configured. 

To view a BMC CMDB audit of a CI in BMC CMDB version 20.02 or earlier

  1. Open a CI, as described in Using search.
  2. In the navigation pane, select Functions > CMDB Audits.
  3. On the View Instance History form, select a history entry, and click View.
    The data displayed on the CMDB:DefaultAuditLog form depends on how the form is configured. By default, Name, Status, Region, Site Group, and Site are displayed. An administrator can configure more fields to audit, as described in  Configuring auditing for a class Open link .
