Troubleshooting Query Parser plug-in issues
The Query Parser plug-in is used to convert a formatted BMC Remedy AR System qualification into an encoded qualification. This formatted qualification is used by the BIRT report and is also used when performing the search.
Plug-in type
Query Parser is a Java-based Filter API plug-in.
AR System server connectivity
The AR System server interacts with the Query Parser plug-in by using the BMC Remedy AR System Java API.
The plug-in arreportVerNum.jar and arreportingapiVerNum.jar ( — VerNum represents the release version number) is installed in the <ARInstallationFolder>\pluginsvr folder.
Configuration information
The configuration information of the Query Parser plug-in is available in the AR System Administration: Plugin Server Configuration form.
The AR System Administration: AR System Configuration Generic UI form includes the Server-Plugin-Alias
parameter setting that points to the correct plug-in server alias.
Server-Plugin-Alias: ARSYS.ARF.QUERYPARSER ARSYS.ARF.QUERYPARSER myServer:9999

To troubleshoot Query Parser plug-in issues
- Verify the Query Parser plug-in configuration.

- Server side logs. For more information, see Enabling server-side AR System logs.
- Plug-in specific logs. For more information, see To enable logs for the Query Parser plug-in.
To enable logs for the Query Parser plug-in
In a browser, open the BMC Remedy AR System Administration Console, and click System > General > Plugin Server Configuration.
- On the Plugin Server Configuration form, from the
- Select the Plugin Server Configuration tab.
- In the Logging Configurations area, from the Log Level list, select DEBUG.
- Click Apply.
The arjavaplugin.log file now generates the debug logs for the Query Parser plug-in.
