HA-CDP installation worksheet

The high-availability configuration distribution peer (HA-CDP) is a secondary CDP that provides redundancy in a high-availability environment and is an optional server component of . Until a failover occurs, a secondary CDP functions as an Activity Peer.

You can install a secondary CDP after you have installed the repository and the primary CDP. Before installing the HA-CDP, use the following worksheet to record information specific to your system. The installation parameters in the table correspond to the parameters in the GUI installation and the options file. For more information about high availability for the CDP, see Working in high-availability environments.

Before installing the HA-CDP, you must use Grid Manager to add this peer to a grid, as described in Adding peers.

Repository HA Address	Provide the repository IP address and port for communication with the enterprise service bus. Use the following format: <IPaddress>:<port> On a machine that has multiple network interface cards (NICs) this must be the IP address that allows access from the CDP and/or the HA-CDP. The default port is the repository web port plus 10. For example, if the repository port is 28080, the Repository HA address is 28090. Notes This entry is required for installations/upgrades with embedded RSSO installations. This is not applicable if you are using external RSSO on the CDP. Often multiple IP addresses are detected by the installer (on a machine that has multiple NICs). Verify the default address and port number and replace them if required. If using external Remedy SSO, Repository HA Address and port is mandatory for successfully installing and running the CDP.

Select your authentication option and provide the required information to use it. Choose the same option that you chose for the CDP.

For example:
- If using an external Remedy SSO server with the name external-rsso.mydomain, the URL is similar to the following:

- If using an embedded Remedy SSO on a repository server with the name bao-repository.mydomain, the URL is similar to the following:
  https://bao-repository.mydomain:28080

Remedy SSO Realm: Provide the name of the realm on the external Remedy SSO.
If you are using the embedded Remedy SSO on the repository, the realm used by is BAOLocal.

Admin Password: Enter the Admin password to log into the external RSSO instance.

NEW IN 8.0Remedy SSO Version: Select your Remedy SSO version from the list.
If you are using embedded RSSO, by default RSSO 9.1.03 is installed.
Warning

If you have installed the HA-CDP with an embedded RSSO, do not select External Remedy SSO option while upgrading. The installation might be successfull however the authentication system may not work successfully.
