Configuring mid tier cache serialization

Additionally, you can select the Enable Cache Persistence option in the Mid Tier Configuration Tool to serialize all objects that are prebuilt in mid tier’s memory to disk. When this option is on, any BMC Remedy AR System object that the mid tier builds is also serialized to disk. When the mid tier is restarted (by restarting Tomcat or the application server that hosts the mid-tier web application), any object that the mid tier needs (such as forms, active links, fields, or groups) is loaded from the disk first, if available. When this option is on, any object not available in memory is located and loaded from the disk first, if available.

Warning

Note

Turn on cache persistence for a production environment. Turn it off in development environments so that newer definitions are retrieved from the AR System server.

The following figure shows Enable Cache Persistence activated on the Cache Settings page of the Mid Tier Configuration Tool.
